How do I get your dice?

Here on my Shop page on restock days, which I announce ahead of time. There is some competition, so make sure you’re there ready at the right date and time with an account created and your payment method pre-loaded!

How do I contact you?

Please email me at hellastrangecreations@gmail.com

I get so much spam in my social media dms, this is the best way for me to respond and help you with your order or questions.

When if you next shop update?

The next restock date will be posted on this site as well as on my socials ahead of time.

Do you do Pre-Orders?

  • I do not currently have a pre-order system in place for dice. I will post in my social channels and update this page if this changes. As of right now, only my Patreon supporters have early access to the shop every month.

Do you take commissions?

  • As of right now, no. I am not taking commissions at this time.  I will post in my social channels and update this page if I open up a list for commissions.

Do you Hold Items?

  • I do not have a system for keeping items on hold or layaway. When I announce a shop update, all items I have announced for that update will go live at the same time.

Checkout Process

  • Your cart does not hold an item for any amount of time while you’re checking out. If you are trying to buy an item quickly, it is wise to save your payment and shopping information to your browser so it can auto-fill. The fastest option is to create a customer account with your data saved.

What are your dice made of?

  • My dice are made of epoxy resin

Are your dice balanced?

  • The only balanced dice are Vegas dice. Those are made in hermetically sealed chambers to stop any air from getting into the dice. However even under these conditions Vegas dice are still swapped every 15-20 minutes because rolling conditions such as the felted tables can cause the dice to consistently roll a number. Any dice not made in a hermetically sealed chamber will have some amount of air inside, and thus be “unbalanced”, however due to rolling conditions, the dice will always roll randomly. If your DM is okay with you rolling chessex, you can roll handmade dice. The difference is that handmade dice makers are not making loaded dice - which is a completely different production process, also using special machinery.

Where do you get your molds?

  • I make my own molds. They are not for sale.

Will you ever make previous styles/ designs of dice again?

  • Yes! Eventually. I like to keep a rotation of fan favorites and new designs. Usually a design comes back 1-3 times a year. If you haven't seen it in about 6 months it's probably going to make an appearance soon.

Help! I loved your dice so much I placed two orders, can I combine them?

  • Yes. If I see that you placed more than one order before I ship the first one out... I'll combine them and refund the shipping difference for you, no problem. You don't even need to ask, I keep an eye out for things like that.

 Our Environmental and Ethical Philosophy

As Hella Strange Dice has grown from a tiny Etsy shop to an online company shipping products around the world, it has become ever more important for us to consider our impact on the environment and how we can minimize waste.

We have worked, and continue to work, on each area of our business to identify processes that could be improved upon, as well as working with suppliers that adhere to guidelines that prevent the exploitation of workers and the safe management of waste.

Below are some of the steps we have taken to reduce the environmental impact of our brand:

  • All shipping materials used are all recyclable. (except the single piece of clear packing tape on international or large orders) As much as I want to get into having things like boxes with foam inserts, I just cannot get behind the idea of foam or plastics. I've seen so many pretty packaging options, but if they are not fully recyclable, I don't think I'll be getting into them.
  • Recently we have gone so far as to change our supplier of shipping boxes because the previous supplier was promoting bigoted and discriminatory rhetoric. We at Strange Arcanum and all it's branches choose to not support companies that choose hate and do not value being decent human beings towards others. It takes zero effort to be kind.
  • All my pigments and colorants are ethically and sustainably sourced as possible. We try to support other small businesses and makers when purchasing materials, we use for making dice. We have a source we can name for every pigment and colorant owned and used.

  • We know by working with resin that it produces waste that is toxic. Because of this, we try and re-purpose resin waste into terrain made for our home DND games.

  • Any resin waste that is uncured is taken to local waste disposal site so it is not put into general waste where it can further pollute.

We are constantly aiming to improve in this area and are open to any suggestions on how we can do so. Feel free to email us with any ideas you have.
